Mike White

Mike White is a Southern Queensland based, self-taught visual artist with a focus on Street Scenes and Landscapes. Mike uses colour and contrast to express the vibrancy and diversity of life across many cultures. His art is influenced by his love of Fauvism – the works of the masters Andre Derain, Matisse and Vlaminck. “I like to include people on my landscapes. All my work comes from what I have personally experienced; I attempt to capture the human interaction with a natural world across the nations. In essence mankind has similar basic needs all around the world, but location and culture creates a super interesting kaleidoscope of diversity and response” – Mike
