Michael Jones
This spectacular work began as an attempt to make simple totem sculptures based around interesting organic shapes found in timber didgeridoos. Introducing sound as a 4th dimension into this creative mix has been genuinely exciting and has taken Michael into a new experience of creativity he had never imagined. Since 2007 Michael has been researching, making and learning to play didgeridoo. This collection of ceramic totems/instruments plays exceptionally well, with a beautiful rich tone and high-volume level and are his very personal interpretation of the traditional timber instruments so deeply embedded in Australian Aboriginal culture. Michael has been a practicing potter and artist for the past 37 years. He lives & works from his base in the Tambourine Mountains Qld.
