With ancestral ties to Truganini’s family line in Lutruwita (Tasmania), Kurun has forged a distinctive style that has caught the eye of collectors like Pierce Brosnan and Oprah Winfrey. Parallel lines painted on to canvas with his fingers create a mesmeric shimmering effect, an hallucinatory image in black and white, or vivid sunset palettes, often featuring his totem - the grasstree spear.
