Gloria Gardiner "Firestorm"
Gloria is a proud Kamilaroi woman. She grew up in the small North-Western N.S.W town of Goodooga. A retired General Primary teacher who still works casually in schools and education. She lives in the Northern Rivers NSW seaside town of Pottsville with her husband Tom and her children and grandchildren also living in Pottsville. Gloria and Tom are strong contributors to their small coastal community. Gloria’s art focuses on many of the traditional Aboriginal symbols such as camp sites, travel lines and resting places. Her art tells the stories of our diverse land, the communities that come together to support each other and the importance of family. She passionately uses ochre colours and occasionally more vibrant contemporary colours all depending upon the story she is weaving. Medium: Acrylic on Canvas 148 x 58 cms
