Tania Major "Widows: Mourning Collar"

Tania Major is a Kokoberra artist from Kowanyama Cape York Australia who is inspired by the rich cultural heritage and connection to her land/waters. Through her artwork, she explore themes of identity , spirituality, and the preservation of traditional knowledge. Her aim is to create art that fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture/lore; of the Kokoberra, Yir Yoront, (or Kokomenjen) and the Kunjen clans, the Traditional Owners and descendants of the Lower Mitchell and Alice River Cape York. 142 x 133 cms Permaplastic acrylic paints on canvas.
