Colour, technique and form combine in the paintings of Beryl Miles to create a composition that challenges viewers to form their own interpretation. “I don’t describe myself as an abstract artist,” says Beryl. “My work is more non-representational. “The painting begins with blocks of colour in different shapes. “I then experiment on the canvas applying several layers of paint for visual effect and drawing between the layers. “I allow the painting to lead me and let the unexpected happen.”
